Mathematicians are crazily smart

I don't like doing mathematics. But that doesn't mean I don't have admiration for the art of formulating mathematical theorems. Reading about Euclid's invention of Greek geometry; how he started from five simple postulates to build up an entire system of concepts familiar to us today like congruent triangles has astounded me. His use of logic is amazing. Reading several pages about Euclid's mathematics has instilled in me an appreciation 12 years of doing maths has failed to do.
